Movement of citrus plant materials is also being restricted due to the invasion by the Asian Citrus Psyllid.

Feb 2, 2009 From: D. Seaver Please see the UC publication (pdf) Harvesting and Storing Your Home Orchard's Nut Crop: Almonds, Walnuts, Pecans, Pistachios, and Chestnuts. UC recommends that pistachios be stored in-shell. I hope this publication which is linked from the pistachio page is helpful to you. It does tell how to easily remove the hulls.
